Firm Overview
We are a Southern California criminal defense law firm; our attorneys, with a combined 50 years of experience in criminal law, exclusively practice criminal defense.
We represent people charged with or being investigated for crimes, including general criminal offenses, both misdemeanors and felonies, DUI, watson murder, white collar crimes, domestic violence, sex crimes, child molestation, juvenile crimes, human trafficking, sex offender registration, kidnapping, drug crimes, cocaine charges, insurance fraud, bankruptcy fraud, federal appeal, and theft.
We handle the most difficult cases with great results. Unlike other firms, you will always meet with the lawyer, not an "office manager" or "paralegal".
Our firm is AV-rated and has been nationally recognized as a top Los Angeles criminal defense law firm, specializing in California state and federal crimes. We have decades of experience and a proven track record of success.
Aggressive Representation with Compassion and Integrity
Our attorneys are skillful negotiators and able adversaries in court, aggressively pursuing our clients' interests.
However, we also have a reputation among law enforcement officers and prosecutors for practicing criminal law with compassion and integrity, which lends us credibility and enables us to establish important professional relationships.
Our strategic location, adjacent to the courts, police, and prosecutors' office, enables us to aggressively and promptly begin defending your rights. Early intervention can lead to cases being rejected, filed as a misdemeanor rather than a felony, or scheduled for an Office Hearing.
Creative Problem Solving
We seek creative solutions to our clients' legal challenges. This starts with creative approaches to issues involving law enforcement and prosecutors. If a case reaches the sentencing stage, we look for creative approaches to sentencing.
We always try to find ways to mitigate sentencing and avoid incarceration, often by emphasizing rehabilitation.
We have a large array of experts, both psychological and psychiatric, who assist in changing the prosecutors' and the courts' views of our clients.
There are many imaginative ways to resolve a case without the expense, toll, and uncertainty of a jury trial. Keeping our clients' best interests in mind, we move forward aggressively, always mindful of mitigating any potential criminal exposure.
Dedication to Clients
Our California law firm is dedicated to our clients. We work hard for them and always seek to do what is in their best interests. We also listen to them, many of whom are people who feel like they aren't listened to enough.
Our clients return to us when they need our help and recommend us to their family and friends. Some of our clients are third-generation clients. Please visit the Testimonial section of this site to see what our clients have to say. Unlike other firms that advertise heavily on the radio or send "Jail Mail" to your home, we believe in the personal touch that you deserve.
You will not be talking to non-lawyers whose job it is to sign you up. At Eisner Gorin LLP, you will meet with the attorney handling your case. Unlike firms that advertise "Offices throughout the Southland," we have one office, directly across from the Van Nuys Courthouse.
Therefore, unlike the other firms, your case will not be sloughed off to an inexperienced contract lawyer working for the attorney you thought you had hired! We are a boutique Criminal Defense firm specializing in defending criminal matters throughout Southern California and in federal courts nationwide.
Highest Rating for Legal Ability
The firm has attained Martindale-Hubbell's highest rating for legal ability, professionalism, and ethical standards, based on peer reviews from judges and other attorneys. Our firm's partners have litigated a wide range of cases, from Death Penalty murder cases to complex fraud cases, and have been nominated Prosecutor of the Month on several occasions.
Many of his cases have been profiled in the media, including ABC, NBC, and Court TV, among others. Our firm also has a licensed investigator on the premises who assists in aggressively defending clients accused of crimes.
You will only meet and be represented by one of the firm's partners. We do not have an officer, manager, or new attorneys assisting you in court.
Because we have worked as senior prosecutors for many years in the San Fernando Valley, we are able to aggressively defend our clients BEFORE the Court date, through immediate contact with law enforcement and the prosecutor's office BEFORE charges are filed. Our main office is located across the street from the Van Nuys Courthouse.
Boykoff Investigations
Joining the team in 2003, David Boykoff, the President of Boykoff Investigations, is located on-site. This allows him to be available immediately to begin work on your case, often before the police have completed their investigation.
It is a well-known fact that witnesses can be swayed or intimidated by the police, and our ability to get recorded statements or physical evidence early in an investigation can prevent that from happening.
Witnesses often lose their memories or change their accounts, so memorializing their statements promptly is crucial to a successful defense. If you have been charged with a crime or are under investigation, please contact us immediately. We would like to discuss your situation with you.
Successful Case Results
- No Formal Charges After Arrest: A government employee was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a minor who lied about her age. Our office found enough reasonable doubt on the elements of statutory rape and therefore decided not to pursue charges.
- Hit-and-Run Case Closed: A client was involved in a hit-and-run. Our firm negotiated with the assigned detective to dismiss the criminal case investigation after reaching a civil settlement and presenting insurance coverage details.
- Sex Case Dropped Due to Insufficient Evidence: A client was under investigation for more than a year due to accusations of a sex crime. After conducting its own investigation, the firm argued to the government that there was insufficient evidence. As a result, the case was closed without any formal arrest or charges.
- Reduction from DUI to Reckless Driving: Our attorneys presented mitigation to the prosecutor to avoid a felony DUI conviction, which could affect our client's medical license. We eventually reached a plea compromise to preserve our client's ability to work.
- Two Firearm Cases Dropped: A client faced charges related to displaying and discharging firearms. After extensive litigation, both the felony and misdemeanor cases were dismissed just before the trial.
- Sex Trafficking and Pandering Case: Our client gained eligibility for Mental Health Diversion following a year of litigation and objections from the DA's Office. The charges will be dismissed once the program is successfully completed.
- Domestic Violence Felony Arrest: No formal charges filed against a medical doctor following presentation of defense evidence to the prosecutor's office.
- Grand Theft Arrest in Casino: No formal charges filed against a business owner following a claim that he took someone else's bag with poker chips.
- Federal Detention Hearings: The firm successfully obtained pretrial releases for many clients charged with felonies in federal court across the country, often despite objections from the government. The cases involved allegations of stalking, possession of illegal pornography, child abuse, and drug trafficking.
- Fake ID Cases: Two college students were charged with presenting fake IDs during a sting operation. After our firm provided mitigation evidence, the prosecutor's office decided not to pursue formal charges and scheduled informal counseling hearings for each student.
- No Charges in Assault with Deadly Weapon Case: A veteran with PTSD was accused of striking a man with a bat. The law firm submitted defense evidence, including recent treatment efforts, to the prosecutor's office. The case will not proceed to formal prosecution once our client completes an informal process through the prosecutor's office.
